Tanjung Jara

Tanjong Jara is situated on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, between Kuala Terengganu in the North and Kuantan in the South. The Resort is built on a 17-hectare site facing the South China Sea. The riverine town of Dungun lies west of Tanjong Jara and is eight kilometres away.


The Resort is accessible by road from all major cities within Peninsular Malaysia. It is approximately a mile away from the expressway and one hour drive from Kuala Terengganu Airport. The Resort provides transfers via limousine services from the Kuala Terengganu Airport, Kerteh Airport, Kuantan Airport (in the state of Pahang), or Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at Sepang.


Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia operate flights daily from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu and Kuantan. Those travelling to and from Penang may also want to consider flying with

Limousine Services
The Resort is able to arrange transportation via a fleet of limousines that can take guests to various destinations of their choice.

Directions by Road

1. To drive to Tanjong Jara Resort from Kuala Lumpur, take the East-West (Karak) highway to Kuantan, starting at the first toll plaza at Gombak. Toll charges are approximately RM5 per car.

2. Follow the signboards to Kuantan.

3. You will exit the East-West highway at the second toll plaza at Karak. Charges are RM3 per car.

4. Take the Pantai Timur Express Highway. Exit at Gambang. Toll charges are RM16.90.

5. After Gambang, follow the signboard indicating the direction to Cherating/ Kuala Terengganu. You will bypass Kuantan town.

6. The trunk road will lead you to Cherating, Chukai/Kemaman, Kerteh and Paka where you can see the Paka Power Plant on your right.

7. After driving for approximately half hour after Paka, you will reach Dungun town. At the first traffic light, proceed straight for another 8 km towards Kuala Terengganu.

8. Just about 500 meters before the turning to Tanjong Jara Resort, you will see a yellow signboard indicating the Resort, which will be on the right side of the main road.

9. Turn right at this junction. Approximately 1km from the main road, you will see the Tanjong Jara Resort signboard on your left just outside the main entrance.
